Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 cup softened butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
3 cups oats
1 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, add eggs and vanilla.  Combine flour, soda, salt, and spices in separate bowl.  Mix together.  Stir in oats.

Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies, 10-11 for crispy ones (I like chewy!)
