Scones

2 T. active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3 tsp. salt
1 cup boiling water
4 beaten eggs
1 cup COLD water
7 1/2 cups flour

Put yeast and water in bowl, set aside.  Cream shortening, sugar, and salt in large mixing bowl.  Add boiling water, mix and cool.  Add yeast mixture, eggs, and flour.  Next add COLD water.  Chill for 5 hours or more.

For Rolls: Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
For Scones: Fry in oil at 400 degrees in electric fry pan.  Scones are done when golden brown on both sides.
