Sugar Cookies: Oh so soft!

1 1/3 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 T. milk
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups flour

Mix shortening, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.  Beat in eggs.  Add milk and mix.  In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.  Add to shortening mix.

Divide dough into four pieces, and rap individually in saran wrap.  Chill in fridge for at least two hours.

Roll out and cut into shapes.  Bake at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes- do NOT overcook!  Let cool and frost if desired.
